Course Description
This comprehensive course is designed for rehabilitative healthcare professionals seeking to enhance patient care through advanced proprioceptive techniques. Participants will learn to define and assess proprioceptive function, identify deficits, and implement evidence-based interventions aimed at improving balance, coordination, and overall functional performance. Course Objectives
At the end of this course, the participant will be able to:
- Describe what proprioception is and what it is not
- Assess a patient’s proprioceptive sense
- Identify risk factors for developing proprioceptive deficits
- Construct and prescribe evidence-based interventions for the treatment of proprioceptive deficits in order to improve balance and decrease fall risk allowing for increased participation in ADLs.
- Utilize a variety of evidence-based methods for maximizing patients’ compliance with the prescribed interventions
