Dynamic Stretching and Other Keys to Lower Extremity Injury Prevention
Course Description
This is a 2 hour webinar designed for physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, athletic trainers, certified strength and conditioning specialists & personal trainers. It is a must for all strength coaches to improve their client’s performance as well as reduce risk of injury while training. Method of instruction will include written materials and demonstrative videos. After completion of this webinar, the participant will be proficient in lower extremity anatomy and how it relates to human function and movement and educating clients or patients in an effective dynamic warm up. Participant will also learn proper functional stretching, techniques for self soft tissue mobilization, closed chain lower extremity strengthening and proprioceptive exercises and active isolated stretching. This course is relevant to any clinician who has active patients or clients that are looking for safe and effective ways to prevent or recover from a lower extremity injury.
Course Objectives
At the end of this course, the participant will be able to:
- Recognize lower extremity anatomy and how it relates to movement and function.
- Implement a program using proper functional and active isolated stretching , techniques for self soft tissue mobilization, and closed chain lower extremity strengthening and proprioceptive exercises.
- Summarize how to educate patients/clients in an effective dynamic warm up, soft tissue mobilization, lower extremity stability / strengthening and isolated active stretching exercises.
