Course Objectives

At the end of this course, the participant will be able to:

• Define tension type headache and myofascial pain related cervicogenic headache
• Perform a clinical assessment to identify characteristics of TTH using self-reported outcome measures, palpation, mobility testing and pain provocation testing
• Demonstrate manual therapy interventions to manage myofascial pain and mobility impairments related to tension headache
• Instruct clients in home management of tension headache including posture, exercise, biopsychosocial and self-applied manual therapy interventions.
• Discuss the evidence supporting the use of an integrative approach to improve pain, function, mobility, and quality of life in people with TTH.
