Evidence Based Rehabilitation Practice for Cervical Pathologies
Course Description
This course will include a review of the biomechanics of cervical spine and specifically as it relates to cervical pathologies. It will highlight the importance of stability versus mobility of the cervical spine and the participant will learn how to incorporate the most effective stability exercises into the rehabilitation program. Practical progression of stability exercises will also be discussed in order to be able to be applicable for various patient populations from seniors to athletes.
Course Objectives
At the end of this course, the participant will be able to:
- Recognize cervical functional anatomy and biomechanics, including the normal and abnormal biomechanics of cervical segments.
- Select stabilization exercises that target the deep cervical muscles and improve their coordination and endurance.
- Explain how to educate patients on proper body mechanics and exercise techniques to optimize outcomes of the patients with different cervical pathologies.
- Discuss the protocols of implementing these stabilization exercises effectively
