Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS): Key Information for Healthcare Professionals
Course Description
This course provides an evidence-based overview of Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) with emphasis on recognition, clinical evaluation, and management in active individuals. Participants will explore current diagnostic criteria, common signs and symptoms, exercise considerations, nonpharmacologic and pharmacologic management strategies, and principles for safe progression of physical activity.
Course Objectives
At the end of this course, the participant will be able to:
- Identify the signs, symptoms, and clinical presentation of POTS.
- Explain diagnostic criteria, subtypes, and differential diagnosis considerations.
- Evaluate assessment and management strategies for active individuals with POTS.
- Apply exercise programming and self-management recommendations for patients with POTS.
