The Intervention Series: Therapeutic Activities CPT Code 97530
Course Description
This course will cover an overview of Evidence-based Practice (EBP) and medical necessity, what Therapeutic Activities are defined as, what differentiates it from other common codes used by PT and OT rehabilitation professionals, how to justify the use of the code at evaluation and treatment, and some documentation considerations to ensure reimbursement. The course will also look at how Therapeutic Activities relates to the biopsychosocial approach to healthcare for a more comprehensive consideration of its usage.
Course Objectives
At the end of this course, the participant will be able to:
- Define Evidence-based Practice
- Define Therapeutic Activities
- Identify testing options to determine need for Therapeutic Activities
- Utilize appropriate treatment strategies that are evidence-based to support skill of Therapeutic Activities
- Document each component of evaluations/progress notes/daily notes to demonstrate skilled nature of Therapeutic Activities
