Research in Lower Extremity Amputee Care
Course Description
This course will cover relevant research pertaining to the evaluation and treatment of the lower extremity amputee, with focus in areas of outcomes, gait/balance, postoperative care, componentry and osseointegration.
Course Objectives
At the end of this course, the participant will be able to:
- Implement possible additions/changes in treating the lower extremity amputee population given recent research over the last 3-5 years.
- Summarize research and clinical practice guidelines in the area of lower extremity prosthetic componentry.
- Summarize research on various subjective and performance based outcomes.
