Comprehensive Shoulder: Evaluation of the Painful Shoulder
Course Description
Shoulder pain is complex to isolate and treat at times. This course aims to provide a comprehensive approach to the evaluation of common shoulder dysfunctions. This course will review the anatomy and biomechanics of the shoulder joint. It will also highlight the importance of the concept of regional interdependence in the evaluative process. Provocation testing will be covered with an emphasis on testing in clusters in order to facilitate clinical decision making by improving the diagnostic process.
Course Objectives
At the end of this course, the participant will be able to:
- Recognize the anatomy and biomechanics of the shoulder
- Describe the potential contributors of dysfunction in the shoulder area
- Explain the importance of the concept of regional interdependence in the evaluation of the shoulder.
- Explain the importance of provocation testing and testing in clusters in the evaluation of specific shoulder conditions.
