Current Concepts in Rehab: HIIT and Circuit Training
Course Description
This course will discuss current concepts in high intensity interval training (HIIT) and circuit training as it applies to the healthcare provider. Exercise programming strategies for patients of all ages and fitness levels will be discussed including types of exercise, progression/regression, and client monitoring. This presentation is for the healthcare provider who desires an evidence-based update of current HIIT and circuit training concepts.
Course Objectives
At the end of this course, the participant will be able to:
- Explain two physiological benefits of HIIT and circuit training.
- Discuss two common HIIT and circuit training models and how to integrate them into a rehabilitation program.
- Utilize different training variables for exercise and methods to progress or regress different patients.
- Describe two current methods of monitoring and tracking a patients exercise program.
