Current Concepts in Rehab: Resistance & Cardiorespiratory Exercise
Course Description
This course will discuss current concepts in resistance training and aerobic exercise as it applies to the healthcare provider. Training methodology such as periodization, types of exercise, progression/regression, and client monitoring will be covered for each form of exercise. This presentation is for the healthcare provider who desires an evidence-based update of current resistance training and aerobic training concepts.
Course Objectives
At the end of this course, the participant will be able to:
- Recognize two methods to progress and monitor a patient with resistance training in order to improve strength
- Identify two common resistance training periodization models and explain how to integrate them into a rehabilitation program.
- Recall cardiorespiratory exercise zone training and explain two ways of integrating it into a rehabilitation program.
- Identify two current methods of monitoring and tracking a patients exercise program.
