This course will discuss current concepts in resistance training and aerobic exercise as it applies to the healthcare provider. Training methodology such as periodization, types of exercise, progression/regression, and client monitoring will be covered for each form of exercise. This presentation is for the healthcare provider who desires an evidence-based update of current resistance training and aerobic training concepts.
At the end of this course, the participant will be able to:
- Recognize two methods to progress and monitor a patient with resistance training in order to improve strength and occupational performance
- Identify two common resistance training periodization models and explain how to integrate them into a rehabilitation program.
- Recall cardiorespiratory exercise zone training and explain two ways of integrating it into a rehabilitation program.
- Discuss two current methods of monitoring and tracking a patients exercise program.
