Current Concepts in Rehabilitation of Orthopedic Shoulder Conditions
Course Description
This webinar is intended to provide an overview of common shoulder injuries such as rotator cuff, SLAP tears, adhesive capsulitis, instability, impingement, arthritis, overuse. and associated pathology. We will review shoulder examination tests & techniques, summarize therapeutic interventions, discuss return to activity guidelines and summarize outcome data.
Course Objectives
At the end of this course, the participant will be able to:
- Recognize signs and symptoms of common shoulder disorders including rotator cuff pathology, SLAP tears, adhesive capsulitis, instability, impingement, arthritis, and overuse.
- Perform a thorough shoulder exam to rule out differential diagnoses
- Use a multi-model approach to treatment for various shoulder conditions including joint mobilization, dry needling, soft tissue mobilizations, open and closed chain therapeutic exercises and return to play assessments
- Explain key concepts of post-operative care for shoulder stabilization, labral repair, rotator cuff repair, SAD, and total shoulder arthroplasty
