Current Concepts in the Treatment and Recognition of SLAP Tears
Course Description
This course will give the course participant an overview of SLAP injuries as well as common surgical approaches. It will include the signs and symptoms pertaining to SLAP tears and will address clinical assessment and testing. Rehabilitation of the surgical and non-surgical patient will also be discussed as well as return to play
Course Objectives
At the end of this course, the participant will be able to:
- Recognize signs and symptoms of a SLAP tear
- Explain how to perform relevant clinical tests
- Design effective nonsurgical and post-op rehab plans
- Describe the different procedures performed including biceps tenotomy and tenodesis
- Summarize return to play guidelines and current outcome data
