Evidence Based Treatment Strategies for the Cervical Spine
Course Description
Evidence Based Practice is the intentional use of current based evidence in making decisions about individual patients and their care while at the same time, integrating clinical expertise and the patient’s values. This course takes participants through a review of the basic anatomy of the cervical spine and summarizes current best evidence for common cervical disorders including strains, radiculopathy, cervicogenic headaches, whiplash, and acute and chronic pain. Emphasis will be on recognition of clinical patterns and development of evidence based treatment programs for each. This webinar will utilize pictures, diagrams, and charts for illustration throughout.
Course Objectives
At the end of this course, the participant will be able to:
- Describe basic anatomy and physiology and movement of the cervical spine.
- Identify subjective and objective indicators of specific clinical presentations for various cervical pathologies.
- Create an effective treatment plan for various cervical pathologies that is based on current evidence.
