High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT): Applications for Fitness and Rehab
Course Description
What’s the future of fitness? According to an international survey of exercise professionals, high intensity interval training (HIIT) will be the strongest trend in 2018. This course provides the learner an introduction to High-Intensity Interval Training, a popular technique used in the fitness industry & by therapists for rehab. Participants will receive information on the physiological effects, including a review of the current evidence. Specific information will be provided on how the trainer/therapist might be able to adapt HIIT for their patients based on demonstrated assessment methods. Ample video demonstration will be provided of actual workouts that can be incorporated for any fitness level & rehab programs.
Course Objectives
At the end of this course, the participant will be able to:
- Recognize what HIIT training is and understand the physiology behind it.
- Identify how to modify HIIT workouts for different rehab objectives & physical performance levels.
- Name at least 5 different HIIT workouts & describe their benefits.
