Introduction to Evidence Based Practice for Rehab Professionals – Advanced EBP
Course Description
Evidence Based Practice, or EBP, is a buzz word in healthcare now but many healthcare professionals don’t fully understand what it means or how to implement it. Even those with a better understanding of EBP often struggle to implement it because of the time constraints in a busy clinic. This course will introduce the principles of EBP and will teach participants the skills and knowledge they need to implement it in a busy practice. This course will teach participants how to read, understand, interpret, and critique a research study. It will discuss the differences between statistical significance and clinical significance and what this means to a clinician. Finally, participants will be introduced to the concepts of sensitivity, specificity, and likelihood ratios and their importance in selecting/interpreting clinical tests.
