Introduction to Evidence Based Practice

Course Description

Evidence-based practice (EBP) integrates research results and clinical expertise with the client’s preferences, beliefs and values.  Knowing how to integrate evidence based research into your occupational therapy practice is an important part of adhering to best practices. This course discusses what it means to use & apply evidence-based practice in the context of occupational therapy.

Course Objectives

At the end of this course, the participant will be able to:

·         Define evidence based practice

·         Summarize different types of studies

·         Define level of evidence

·         Explain how to locate literature

·         Critically appraise literature

·         Apply EBP to your work setting

  Satisfactory completion of this course will require the participant to complete a 10 question post-test with a minimum passing score of 70%.
