Neuromuscular Inhibition Techniques for the Treatment of Myofascial Trigger Points
Course Description
This course will include an overview of Myofascial Trigger Points (MTrP) and summarize recent evidence-based findings regarding inhibition techniques. Recent research has highlighted the Integrated Neuromuscular Inhibition Technique (INIT) as a valuable intervention for MTrPs. Expand your options by learning about manual therapy techniques aimed to cause immediate inhibition of the corresponding muscle. Then follow this with established exercises in order to maintain the progress.
Additionally, each participant will receive summary tables that encompass findings from research studies related to Ischemic Compression and PNF stretching.
Course Objectives
At the end of this course, the participant will be able to:
- Summarize Trigger Point referral patterns and their implications for treatment.
- Explain evidence-based parameters for Trigger point deactivation techniques.
- Explain the sequence and application of the Integrated Neuromuscular Inhibition Technique (INIT).
