Parkinson’s Disease: What it is and how it is managed
Course Description
In this course, we will review the current understanding of disease pathology, discuss the medical management, examine contemporary physical therapy management across the disease process, and consider future directions of care for people with Parkinson’s disease (PD). This course is intended to re-introduce PD to clinicians who desire to understand the challenges faced by and provide optimal care for people with PD.
Course Objectives
At the end of this course, the participant will be able to:
1) Discuss the pathology of Parkinson’s disease.
2) Discuss the pharmacological and surgical management of people with PD.
3) Develop suitable therapy intervention strategy for people with PD.
