Performing Evidence-Based Therapeutic Exercise (Therex), and Documenting to get Reimbursed for It
Course Description
Attendees will learn how to support the medical necessity of Therapeutic Exercise, as defined by Medicare and the American Medical Association. The course will review the definition of Therapeutic Exercise, and cover diagnostic coding, testing, treatment, and documentation to support the necessity of this intervention.
Course Objectives
At the end of this course, the participant will be able to:
- Define “evidence-based”
- Define Therapeutic Exercise
- Identify testing options to determine need for Neuromuscular Reeducation
- Utilize appropriate treatment strategies that are evidence-based to support skill of Therapeutic Exercise
- Document each component of evaluations/progress notes/daily notes to demonstrate skilled nature of Therapeutic Exercise
