Prevention of Medical Errors for Massage Therapists
Course Description
This 2-hour course focuses on potential and actual harm that massage therapists can create during a massage therapy treatment. Faulty equipment, allergic reactions, and negligent practice will be discussed. Communication will also be discussed and is the key to preventing medical errors.
Course Objectives
At the end of this course, the participant will be able to:
- Identify three ways to prevent medical errors in their massage therapy practice.
- Recognize current statistics regarding Medical Errors Prevention in Hospitals, Outpatient Clinics, and other Healthcare locations.
- Describe the role of communication in reducing medical errors
- Describe how a potential issue may resolved in their office to prevent a medical error
