Recognizing & Treating Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV)
Course Description
This course will cover the evaluation and treatment of all forms of Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV) – the most common peripheral vestibular disorder in adults. This course combines lecture and videos that will cover anatomy and physiology of the vestibular system, common causes of BPPV, the different forms, signs and symptoms of BPPV, testing, treatment, and goals.
Course Objectives
At the end of this course, the participant will be able to:
- Explain the signs, symptoms, and causes of BPPV
- Distinguish between the 2 forms of BPPV through a thorough evaluation and testing
- Recognize a variety of treatments that would be appropriate for each form of BPPV in order to improve symptoms and quality of life
