Rehab for Total Joint Replacements: From Shoulder to Hip to Knee
Course Description
This is a 2 1/2 hour webinar designed for beginning to intermediate physical therapists, physical therapy assistants, occupational therapists, occupational therapy assistants and athletic trainers. Method of instruction will include written materials and demonstrative videos. After completion of this webinar, the participant will be competent in shoulder, hip and knee anatomy, surgical procedures and variances for each joint and how it effects rehabilitation. Participant will also learn proper rehabilitation exercises for each joint and how to progress these patients based on their symptoms. After successful completion of this webinar, the clinician will be proficient in successfully rehabilitating a patient recovering from total hip, shoulder or knee surgery. This course is relevant to any therapist or trainer who assists in the rehabilitation of a total joint replacement patients.
Course Objectives
At the end of this course, the participant will be able to:
- Identify the basic anatomy of the shoulder, hip and knee.
- Recognize surgical options for shoulder, hip and knee OA.
- Formulate a treatment program for post-operative rehab after total shoulder, hip or knee surgeries.
- Summarize current research on OA for shoulder, hip and knee pathologies.
