The Management of Hand Injuries in the Athlete
Course Description
This webinar will provide the participant with knowledge of the various injuries that occur in hands and fingers during sporting activities. We will discuss how to identify these injuries, manage these injuries with orthotic fabrication, and develop a rehabilitation program to return the athlete safely to play.
Course Objectives
At the end of this course, the participant will be able to:
- Identify various sports related injuries to the fingers and hand.
- Recognize the importance of collaboration with the physician and athletic trainer for safe progression to return to play.
- Identify appropriate exercises and skills to prepare the athlete for return to play.
- Recognize specific orthotic fabrication options for athletic injuries of the hand.
