Course Description
Replacement of the ankle joint has traditionally not been a consideration for physicians, however new and exciting advancements have led to the first tri-axial ankle joint replacements. With continued advancements in this technology, it has left the rehab world playing catch-up to develop treatment protocols and plans for something that they have not encountered before! This course serves to explore the replacement technology and present the participants with treatment strategies.
Course Objectives
At the end of this course, the participant will be able to:
- Identify the anatomy and physiology of the ankle joint to review & highlight its complexities.
- Explain the dynamics of ankle replacements and how they are integrated into the body
- Summarize specific ankle exercises & strategies for optimal ankle replacement rehab & recovery
