Yoga for Chronic Low Back Pain: Evidence-Based Biopsychosocial Management
Course Description
Many rehabilitation professionals are aware of yoga as an effective intervention for stretching and stress relief; however, many are unaware of the benefits of yoga as an effective biopsychosocial and spiritual self-management strategy for people suffering with chronic low back pain. Collectively, clinical guidelines recommend yoga as an effective noninvasive nonpharmacologic treatment for chronic low back pain. However, health professionals are hesitant to refer people with low back pain for yoga.
In this webinar, the rehab professional will gain an understanding of what patients are appropriate for a yoga referral; components of a yoga class and series of classes that have been shown effective for management of low back pain; and the biopsychosocial and spiritual health benefits will be reviewed.
